New teaser released for Guillermo del Toro-produced horror Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
A new teaser trailer for the upcoming horror movie Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, produced by Guillermo del Toro, has made its debut online – click below to watch it:
Based on the series of novels of the same name by Alvin Schwartz, the new film has been adapted by Dan and Kevin Hagerman, the brothers behind the script for Hotel Transylvania, as well as The Lego Movie and its sequel. Norwegian filmmaker André Øvreda is directing the new film, with Guillermo del Toro producing.
The Pan's Labyrinth director is also jointly responsible for the film's storyline, which involves a group of teenagers who discover a mysterious book in a spooky mansion on their edge of their small town, one written by a young girl from the family who owned the mansion – and which harbours some terrible secrets.
The film's cast includes Rubicon's Zoe Margaret Colletti, Wayward Pines star Michael Garza and Breaking Bad's Dean Norris.
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is due to arrive this summer and while there's no confirmed UK release date just yet, the movie is due to make its debut in US cinemas on August 9th.
