Nicholas Hoult looks set to star in a new biopic of author J.R.R Tolkien.
Hoult, who is currently filming new X-Men instalment Dark Phoenix, will take the role in a new biopic which focuses on the author's formative years.
According to Deadline, the film will explore the early years of the author, who grew up an orphan, as he moves through school and finds friendship, love and artistic inspiration among a fellow group of outcasts at school.
This takes him into the outbreak of World War I, a conflict that would inspire his epic novels.
Finnish director Dome Karukoski is in charge, working from a script from Cowboys and Angels writer David Gleeson.
