No Good Deed takes top spot at the U.S. box office

No Good Deed, the Sam Miller film starring Idris Elba, has knocked Guardians of the Galaxy off the top of the U.S. box office chart, where the film has sitting comfortably for the last four weeks. Elba stars in Miller's film as an escaped convict who terrorises a woman who is alone at home with her children.

The film has all but doubled its budget on its opening weekend, raking in a very healthy $24.5m.

Meanwhile Dolphin Tale 2 crept into second place, leaving Guardians to slip into third position.

The actor will also be voicing the character Shere Khan in the upcoming remake of The Jungle Book, which is also set to feature Bill Murray as the voice of Baloo. The new animated film is due out next year.
