Olivia Colman and Emilia Clarke set to join Marvel’s Secret Invasion
Marvel’s upcoming TV series Secret Invasion has already signed up some exciting talent to its cast, with Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn recently joined by the addition of Kingsley Ben-Adir, but the series now appears to have made not one but two more stellar additions to its expanding roster.
Oscar winner Olivia Colman and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke are the latest new arrivals to the show’s cast, with the news of Colman’s addition first emerging via a story in The Hollywood Reporter, followed by a second report in Variety revealing that Clarke was also set to join the new Marvel series.
It hasn’t yet been revealed which characters Colman and Clarke will take on, and with Kingsley Ben-Adir’s role also still a mystery the only confirmed news on that front so far has been Samuel L. Jackson’s reprisal of Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn’s role as Skrull Talos.
Mr. Robot screenwriter Kyle Bradstreet is leading the writing on the new series, with a storyline understood to revolve around a plot by a faction of Talos’ shape-shifting species to infiltrate Earth’s population and take over the planet.
There’s no projected release date for the series as yet, but the studio is reported to be eyeing directors for the show with a view to beginning a shoot later this year.
