Olivia Munn joins X-Men: Apocalypse cast
The cast to the forthcoming X-Men: Apocalypse just got even more impressive with the news that Magic Mike star (and sometimes Daily Show correspondent) Olivia Munn has joined the cast, which seems to be getting more impressive by the week.
Munn will play the role of the telepathic Psylocke, as confirmed by director Bryan Singer on Instagram.
Psylocke is one of the odder characters in the X-Men canon. Going by the real name Betsy Braddock, Munn’s character has psychic powers but can also transport her mind into the body of a Japanese ninja and create purple knives and swords when she sees fit – though we’re not entirely sure if the last part will make Singer’s movie.
Munn joins the returning James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence, as well as newcomers Lana Condor, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Oscar Isaac in the film which is currently slated for a May 2016 release.
