Once Upon a Deadpool adds Fred Savage, loses the F-bombs, still gets a 15
This week saw the arrival of the hilarious new trailer for Once Upon a Deadpool, a remixed, 'family-friendly' version of Deadpool 2 which adds The Wonder Years star Fred Savage to a toned-down version of the foul-mouthed superhero comedy aimed at younger audiences. You can find the new trailer below:
The new version has been recut with the aim of achieving a PG-13 rating in the US, removing some of the film's more expletive-laden sequences and adding some tounge-in-cheek new touches, pitching Once Upon a Deadpool as a kind of 'Deapool 2 for kids'.
The movie is due to arrive in UK cinemas for one night only in December. However, while Once Upon a Deadpool has achieved its targeted PG-13 rating in the US, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has handed the film a 15 rating in the UK – the exact same rating as the regular version.
Still, if you're 15 or over you'll still be able to enjoy the festivities in the new version, which once again takes pleasure in poking fun at itself and Fox, when it arrives in UK cinemas for a one-off series of screenings on on December 11th.
