Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood, Rocketman, 1917 win big at Golden Globes

Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood, Rocketman and 1917 were the big winners at last night's Golden Globes. 

Quentin Tarantino's epic took home three awards, winning for Best Picture - Comedy/Musical, Best Supporting Actor for Brad Pitt and Best Screenplay for Tarantino himself. 

Elton John biopic Rocketman also did well, winning Best Actor - Comedy/Musical for Taron Egerton and Best Orginal Song for '(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again'. 

Sam Mendes' new World War I thriller 1917 won the night's big prize, Best Picture - Drama, while Mendes also won the award for Best Director. 

Other winners included Awkwafina, who won Best Actress - Comedy/Musical for her turn in The Farewell, while Renee Zelwegger won the same award in the drama category for her portrayal of Judy Garland. 

Joaquin Phoenix's terrifying turn in Joker earned him Best Actor in the Drama category, with the film also picking up Best Original Score. Laura Dern while Best Supporting Actress for her role in Marriage Story, the much-nominated drama's only win on the night. 

British comedian Ricky Gervais hosted the ceremony, which took place at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles.
