One Direction's Harry Styles offered role in Christopher Nolan's war drama Dunkirk
One Direction singer Harry Styles has been offered a role in Christopher Nolan's new movie.
Nolan's next movie will be the story of the 1940 WWII Dunkirk evacuation project, the British military operation that saved some 330,000 Allied soldiers when they were surrounded by the German army in the small French town of Dunkirk.
According to Deadline, Styles has been offered a sizeable role in the movie, which if he accepts, would be his first film role. He has previously turned down the chance to take a key role in Justin Chadwick's forthcoming thriller Tulip Fever.
Starring in the film will be Mark Rylance, Tom Hardy and Kenneth Branagh, although the bulk of the cast will largely be unknown. Newly confirmed for the movie are '71's Jack Lowden and War & Peace's Aneurin Barnard, while newcomer Finn Whitehead has reportedly been offered the lead role.
Dunkirk is due for release on July 21st in 2017, which is one week before Tom Holland will make his first solo bow as Spider-Man and the same day Pitch Perfect 3 hits cinemas.
The new movie is Nolan's follow-up to Interstellar, which was released in November of 2014 and which grossed almost $700 million at the box office. It is available to purchase in our online store by clicking on the buy button on the right-hand side of the page.
