Patrick Stewart to play Bosley in new take on Charlie's Angels
Patrick Stewart will play Bosley in the new take on Charlie's Angels.
Charlie's Angels began life as a TV series starring Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith and followed the fortunes of a female-fronted detective agency.
It came to the big screen for the first time in 2000 by Drew Barrymore and director Joseph McGinty Nichol – better known as McG – in a movie which starred Barrymore alongside Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu.
A sequel followed in 2003 and a rebooted TV series also arrived on screens in 2011, but was cancelled after just one series.
The new reboot will see Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska star, with Elizabeth Banks directing, producing and acting.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Banks will also play a character named Bosley, the enigmatic and never-seen owner of the detective agency.
In the new movie, the detective agency, Townsend Agency, is now a security and intelligence service that has teams around the world with multiple Bosleys in different locations.
The movie will focus on one of those teams and the next generation of Angels.
The reboot is currently slated to hit cinema screens next summer with a UK release date on June 9th 2019.
