Patty Jenkins' Star Wars Rogue Squadron set to be delayed
Rogue Squadron, the new Star Wars movie from Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins, looks set to be delayed.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jenkins and writer Matthew Robinson have been developing Squadron for Lucasfilm for over a year and were aiming to start production in 2022.
With that in mind, the film was to have gone into pre-production by the end of this year, however, that will now not happen and the film's release date, which had been booked for December 2023, has been removed.
Jenkins has a busy schedule, she will re-team with Gal Gadot for a third instalment of Wonder Woman and both of them have a new take on Cleopatra in development at Paramount.
Rogue Squadron was due to come before the third instalment of Wonder Woman but that now may change with the delay.
It's now not known what the next big-screen instalment of Star Wars will be. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige is overseeing one, while Taika Waiti and 1917 writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns is developing another.
