Paul Dano, Lily James and James Norton to star in new adaptation of War And Peace
There Will Be Blood and 12 Years A Slave star Paul Dano, Downton Abbey's Lily James and Happy Valley's James Norton have all signed up to star in a new lavish adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's classic novel War And Peace.
The series will consist of six one-hour episodes and will be directed by Tom Harper, who has been behind the camera on many episodes of Peaky Blinders as well as the forthcoming horror flick Woman in Black: Angel of Death.
War And Peace is a joint production for the BBC and The Weinstein Company, there is no confirmed transmission date as yet.
Dano will star as Pierre Bezukhov, James as Natasha Rostova and Norton as Prince Andrei Bolkonsky. An Honourable Woman's Stephen Rea will play Prince Vassily Kuragin, Bottom funnyman Ade Edmondson (best known for his role in Bottom) and Greta Scacchi will play Count and Countess Rostov, while Jack Lowden, Tom Burke and Aisling Loftus also have key roles.
