Paul Thomas Anderson working on new Pinocchio movie
The Boogie Nights and There Will Be Blood director looks set to tackle the children’s fairytale
In what is likely some of the more odd film news we’ve come across this week, acclaimed director Paul Thomas Anderson (he of Magnolia, Punch Drunk Love and The Master fame) looks set to helm a brand new reimagining of the Pinocchio fairytale.
Robert Downey Jr. has been tapped to star in the Warner Bros project as Pinocchio’s carpenter Geppetto.
This will likely be just one of a series of children’s stories in line for a reboot, as iterations of Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, Peter Pan, The Little Mermaid and Winnie The Pooh are all in various stages of development.
We’ll bring you more on this as we get it.
