Penelope Cruz set to star in Zoolander 2
Penelope Cruz has reportedly signed up to star in the long-awaited sequel to cult comedy Zoolander.
According to Deadline, Cruz, who was most recently seen in Ridley Scott's tense drama The Counselor, has agreed to take the leading role in the sequel to the 2001 comedy, with Ben Stiller once again set to star as the empty-headed model Derek Zoolander and direct the film.
The report also states that both Will Ferrell and Owen Wilson could be set to reprise their roles from the original, Ferrell played the evil Mugatu, with Wilson as Zoolander’s supermodel rival Hansel.
The film has been in development for a number of years and has gone through a number of different writers, however the latest draft, which has been written by Leftovers' star Justin Theroux, is the one Stiller looks set to direct.
Earlier this year it was reported that supermodel Cara Delevigne had entered talks about taking a key role in the film, but nothing has been confirmed since those initial rumours.
