Phoebe Waller-Bridge joins the cast of Indiana Jones 5
Fleabag writer and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge has certainly been in demand since her acclaimed comedy-drama became a huge hit, employing her considerable talents in a variety of ways that have included an appearance (or the appearance of her voice, at least) in Solo: A Star Wars Story and being drafted in to spruce up the script of the heavily-delayed Bond movie No Time To Die.
But Waller-Bridge is now set to tackle what could be her biggest onscreen role yet, having been handed the female lead opposite Harrison Ford in the upcoming fifth instalment in the Indiana Jones series, currently pencilled in for release in summer next year.
There isn't too much detail on what we can expect from the fifth Indiana Jones film in terms of a storyline, and there isn't even a title for the film as yet, but we do know that Steven Spielberg will be stepping back from his role as director on the film, instead electing to produce, with James Mangold to take his place in the director's chair.
We also know that the script is being worked on by Solo screenwriter Jonathan Kasdan and David Koepp, whose extensive list of writing credits includes films such as Jurassic Park, Carlito's Way, Ghost Town and the recent reboot of The Mummy, as well as the most recent Indiana Jones outing Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
The announcement of Waller-Bridge's involvement in the new film also confirmed that legendary composer John Williams will once again be on board to provide the score.
Beyond that, there's not much more information available about the new film as yet, but the release date for Indiana Jones 5 is currently scheduled for July 29 2022.
