Pixar President reveals that Toy Story 4 will "be a love story"
Pixar President Jim Morris has given an update on the studio's plans for Toy Story 4.
The studio announced the film late last year and also revealed that John Lasseter, who directed both Toy Story and Toy Story 2, will begin work on the story immediately, with the film due out in June 2017.
Speaking to Disney Latino, Morris said that the new film is not a direct sequel to Toy Story 3, saying: "In temperament it is, but it will be a love story. It will be a romantic comedy. It will not put much focus on the interaction between the characters and children.”
Then asked if the film was being made for purely financial reasons, Morris said: "That’s not what it’s about. It’s about an idea that is met with enthusiasm."
The script for Toy Story 4 is currently being written by Parks and Recreation's Rashida Jones and The Office star Will McCormack.
