Ready Or Not filmmakers to take charge of Scream reboot
Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the filmmakers behind hit horror Ready Or Not, look set to take charge of the Scream reboot.
It was confirmed at the end of 2019 that producers Spyglass were developing a new take on Scream, though there was no word on whether the movie is planned to be a prequel, a reboot or sequel.
Now, aside from the confirmation that Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett will be behind the camera, details still remain scarce on what kind of project the pair will take charge of.
Scream was created by the late Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson.
Released in 1996, the film followed Sidney Prescott, a high school student in the fictional town of Woodsboro, California, who becomes the target of a mysterious killer in a Halloween costume known as Ghostface.
The movie starred David Arquette, Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox, all of whom returned for each of the three sequels.
Four movie instalments and three series of a TV spin-off were released, with a combined box office gross of over $600 million.
Williamson is not involved in the new project.
