Reese Witherspoon battles drug abuse and huge blisters in first trailer for Wild
The first trailer for Wild, the new thriller starring Reese Witherspoon, has been unveiled online and you can watch it below.
The film, which is based on the memoir Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail written by Cheryl Strayed, has been adapted for the screen by best-selling author Nick Hornby and is due for release later this year in the US and early next year in the UK.
The movie sees Witherspoon play the part of Strayed, who goes on a 1,100-mile hike along the Pacific Coast Highway in a bid to help her recover from the breakdown of her marriage and the death of her mother.
The trailer shows Witherspoon's Strayed sporting some extreme blisters and getting involved in heroin use as she treks across the USA (this means it's unsuitable to be watched by children).
Wild also stars The Fault In Our Stars' Laura Dern as Strayed's mother and The Newsroom's Thomas Sadoski as her husband.
Witherspoon recently starred alongside Colin Firth in The Devil's Knot, the film based on the notorious case of the West Memphis Three and is currently filming new comedy Don't Mess With Texas.
