Release date for DC's long-delayed The Flash solo movie unveiled

DC's new big-screen adaptation of The Flash has finally been given a release date.

Development of the movie, which will see Ezra Miller make his solo debut in the role, has been troubled, with both lengthy delays and a revolving door of directors.

Originally due for release in 2018, the film has seen Game Night pair John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, Seth Grahame-Smith and Rick Famuyiwa, who was previously behind the camera on indie hit Dope, all become attached and depart the project.

Now, with It director Andy Muschietti attached and a new script from Birds Of Prey writer Christina Hodson, the film is finally on track. It is now due for release on July 1st in 2022.

Miller made his full debut as The Flash in Justice League, which brought together Flash, Ben Affleck's Batman, Henry Cavill's Superman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher's Cyborg and Jason Momoa's Aquaman as they united for the first time.
