Release dates for Alita: Battle Angel and The Predator delayed
20th Century Fox has announced that it is delaying the releases of both Alita: Battle Angel and The Predator.
Shane Black's reworking of the iconic monster smash-up has suffered a minor pushback, with its original release date of August 3rd now changed to September 14th, a change undertaken to accommodate reshoots.
The plot for the new story is still under wraps, but it does boast a cast that includes Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown and Jacob Tremblay.
Robert Rodriguez's Alita: Battle Angel has suffered heavier delays, with its planned release date of July 20th now delayed until December 21st this year.
The movie sees Yukito Kishiro's hugely successful Battle Angel Alita manga being given the big screen treatment with James Cameron overseeing as producer and Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein and Jackie Earle Haley in key roles.
Alita is a weapon created by Waltz’s mysterious Dr Ido while searching for cyborg parts and made into a lethal, dangerous being. She cannot remember who she is, or where she came from.
