Rita Ora signs up for starring role in Detective Pikachu
Rita Ora has signed up for a key role in Detective Pikachu, the first live-action Pokemon movie.
Production is currently underway in the movie, with Ryan Reynolds playing the title role via performance capture. In this movie, Reynolds' Pikachu is on the hunt for the missing father of a young man.
Starring alongside Reynolds and Ora are Bill Nighy, Chris Geere, Kathryn Newton and Ken Watanabe. The nature of Ora's role is currently unknown.
Goosebumps director Rob Letterman is in the director's chair for the movie, which is due to hit cinemas next year.
Pokémon was introduced in Japan in 1996 and has sold 279 million video games worldwide with 21.5 billion cards shipped to 74 countries, and an animated series spanning 19 seasons.
