Robert Downey Jr. confirms his return for Avengers 4
Good news for fans of Iron Man emerged yesterday as Robert Downey Jr. confirmed his appearance in the upcoming fourth Avengers movie, posting a picture of a director's chair bearing the name Tony Stark to his Instagram account over the weekend.
The image also shows three other chairs featuring the names of Scarlett Johanson's Black Widow alter-ago Natasha Romanov, Paul Rudd's Scott Lang (Ant-Man), and Chris Evans' Steve Rogers (Captain America), all of whom are set to feature in the follow-up to Avengers: Infinity War, due to land in 2018.
The as-yet untitled fourth film in the Avengers franchise is due to arrive in 2019 and already has Joe and Anthony Russo attached to direct, as well as a star-studded cast that includes Josh Brolin, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jon Favreau, Chadwick Boseman, Jeremy Renner and Karen Gillan, as well as Brie Larsson's Captain Marvel, who is set to make her own standalone debut in a 2019 film directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.
The fourth Avengers movie is currently scheduled to arrive in UK cinemas on April 26th 2019, with Avengers: Infinity War heading to cinema screens on April 27th next year.
