Robert Pattinson to star in new film from Spring Breakers’ director Harmony Korine after cold-calling him
Robert Pattinson, star of The Twilight Saga, has revealed he will be starring in the new film from Spring Breakers’ director Harmony Korine, a job he got after cold calling the director.
Pattinson, who will next be seen on the big screen starring opposite Guy Pearce in tough thriller The Rover, told Esquire that he is to star in a gangster film by Harmony Korine, who he approached over the phone, despite having never met in person.
Speaking about the role, Pattinson said: “I never went to acting school, so this is just me trying to get better. I've literally only done jobs which interest me. There have been two which I auditioned for and didn't get, but other than that..."
Korine has previously said in interviews that his next film will be a Southern Gothic crime family film, it is thought that this is the movie Pattinson has signed up to star in.
The Rover opens in the UK on August 15th and you can watch the trailer below.
