Room star Brie Larson in talks to play Captain Marvel
Brie Larson, the Oscar winning star of Room, has emerged as the favourite to play Captain Marvel.
According to Variety, Larson has entered early talks with the studio about taking the role, but negotiations still have a way to go.
If Larson signs up for the role, then it is likely she will be introduced in one of Marvel's other movies before taking her solo bow in March of 2019.
Captain Marvel is the story of Carol Danvers, an air force pilot whose DNA is fused with that of an alien during an accident. The resulting alteration imbues her with the super powers of strength, energy project and flight.
Guardians Of The Galaxy's Nicole Perlman and Inside Out's Meg LeFauve are currently writing the movie's script, but there is presently no director attached to the project.
Larson has just completed work on Kong: Skull Island, the new King Kong origin story, in which she stars alongside Tom Hiddleston, Jason Mitchell, Corey Hawkins and Toby Kebbell.
