Rose Byrne to return in X-Men: Apocalypse
Bad Neighbours and Annie star Rose Byrne is to return to the cast of X-Men for X-Men: Apocalypse.
The actress played the part of Moira McTaggart in X-Men: First Class, but did not return for last year's X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Writer and producer Simon Kinberg has confirmed however that she will be returning next time.
He told Entertainment Weekly: “She’s a significant character in the movie. We ended First Class with Charles having wiped portions of her memory of her experience with the X-Men. They are, essentially, strangers to her when she meets them. It’s certainly a rich relationship that we started to dig into in First Class and would like to mine more in this one.”
X-Men: Apocalypse will see Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Evan Peters and Nicholas Hoult return for to reprise their roles. Bryan Singer will return as director, working from a script by Kinberg, with a story from Singer, Kinberg, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris. Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart will not feature in the new film.
Oscar Isaac has been cast as the film's key villain, Apocalypse, who was first seen in the post-credit sequence for X-Men: Days of Future Past. The film will be released on May 19th 2016 in the UK and May 27th in the US.
