Running time for Gerard Butler's epic disaster movie Geostorm unveiled
The running time for Geostorm, the new big-budget disaster movie starring Gerard Butler and Abbie Cornish, has been unveiled.
The film stars Butler, Cornish, Alexandra Lara, Jim Sturgess, Kathryn Winnick, Amr Waked, Ed Harris and Andy García and has been directed by Dean Devlin, the writer on both Independence Day and Stargate. It is his directorial debut on the big screen.
The movie's running time, which has been unveiled by the BBFC, is 109 minutes, or one hour and 49 minutes.
It is set in the near future in a world where governments have united to battle the effects of climate change by creating the Dutch Boy Program: a worldwide net of satellites, surrounding the planet, that are armed with geoengineering technologies designed to stave off the natural disasters. After successfully protecting the planet for two years, something is starting to go wrong.

The movie will be released into UK cinemas on October 20th this year.
