Running time for Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker unveiled

The running time for Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise Of Skywalker has been unveiled. 

The film hits UK cinemas on December 19th and will be the longest Star Wars movie to date. 

The Rise Of Skywalker will come in at 155 minutes or two hours and 35 minutes. That's three minutes longer than the previous instalment, 2017's The Last Jedi. 

The film is the final act in the trilogy that began with The Force Awakens and picks up a year after the events of The Last Jedi, we watch on as the remnants of the Resistance face the First Order once again.

As well as this, Meanwhile, the ancient conflict between the Jedi and the Sith will reach its climax.

Daisy Ridley, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson are back to star, with Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant and Keri Russell joining the cast.

JJ Abrams returns to the director's chair and Argo scribe Chris Terrio providing the script.
