Running time for Stephen King's The Dark Tower unveiled
The running time for the blockbuster new adaptation of Stephen King's The Dark Tower, which stars Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba, has been unveiled.
First published in 1982, The Dark Tower is an eight-book series and begins with The Gunslinger. It tells the story of Roland Deschain, the last gunslinger. He has been chasing after his long-time enemy "the man in black" for many years across a barren desert and the novel follows him as he journeys. He must stop the man in black and prevent him from toppling the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together.
Elba plays Deschain, while McConaughey is the man in black. Nikolaj Arcel, director of A Royal Affair and Truth About Men, directs the movie with Katheryn Winnick, Jackie Earle Haley, Fran Kranz and Abbey Lee Kershaw also in the cast.
The Dark Tower, which combines all King's books into one single film, has been revealed to run to only 95 minutes in total.
The movie will be released into UK cinemas on August 18th this summer.
