Ryan Gosling signs up to star in Guillermo Del Toro's adaptation of Disney's Haunted Mansion
Ryan Gosling has signed up to star in Guillermo Del Toro's new big-budget adaptation of Disney's The Haunted Mansion.
The Drive star, who is currently promoting his new movie Lost River, has signed up to star in the blockbuster, which is inspired by Disney's hugely popular theme park ride and has a script from High Fidelity's D.V DeVincentis, reports The Wrap.
The ride previously inspired the 2003 comedy The Haunted Mansion, which starred Eddie Murphy and Terence Stamp, but Del Toro has stated in previous interviews that this will be a horror and not a comedy.
Gosling is currently filming gangster movie The Nice Guys alongside Russell Crowe and Matt Bomer and is attached to star in The Big Short. The latter will star Steve Carrell, Brad Pitt and Christian Bale and is being adapted from Michael Lewis's book The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine, which spent 28 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list.
The book tells the story of the build-up to the housing and credit bubble throughout the 2000s that eventually led to the financial crisis of 2007-2010.
