Ryan Reynolds leads the first trailer for Pokémon: Detective Pikachu

The hilarious and mildly terrifying first trailer for upcoming live-action Pokémon movie Detective Pikachu has made its debut online – click below to watch it:



Pokémon: Detective Pikachu is set to arrive in cinemas next year and will be the first live-action incarnation of the insanely popular Pokémon phenomenon. Ryan Reynolds is the man providing the voice for the movie's iconic titular character, starring alongside a cast which includes Suki Waterhouse, Bill Nighy, Kathryn Newton, Ken Watanabe, Justice Smith and Rita Ora.

Directed by Rob Letterman, the man behind recent adaptations of Goosebumps and Gulliver's Travels. The film, the film revolves around the tale of a failed Pokémon trainer and son of a respected detective who is forced to team up with his father's partner, Pikachu, to search for his father after his mysterious disappearance following a car accident.

Pokémon: Detective Pikachu is currently slated to arrive in UK cinemas on May 10th 2019.
