Samuel L. Jackson reveals Nick Fury will not feature in Captain America: Civil War

Samuel L. Jackson has revealed that his character Nick Fury will not be featuring in Captain America: Civil War.

Jackson played a key role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and most of the Marvel movies that have come since, but has revealed he is sitting this one out.

Asked by Collider if he would be heading down to take part in the new movie, Jackson said: "I’m not in Captain America 3. I can’t figure that out, but I’m not. I guess I’m still out there, trying to figure out what happened to S.H.I.E.L.D. and who these other people are."

Jackson also confirmed that he was looking to extend his contract with Marvel, he originally signed for nine films and has two more on that contract, but has said he wants to continue, he added: "Of course [I’m interested in returning]. I’m looking for a contract extension right now. I’m looking to re-up.”

The cast for Captain America: Civil War is huge, with Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Anthony Mackie, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Frank Grillo, Jeremy Renner and William Hurt all on board.

Chadwick Boseman will also make his debut as Black Panther, while both Martin Freeman and Daniel Brühl are also joining the cast. It also has been reported that Paul Rudd's Ant-Man and whoever the newly cast Spider-Man is will also make appearances in the movie.

Captain America: Civil War will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and will be released into UK cinemas on April 29th in 2016.
