Scott Derrickson confirmed to return to direct Doctor Strange sequel
Director Scott Derrickson has been confirmed to return for the sequel to Doctor Strange.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Derrickson has signed up to direct the sequel and Marvel Studios are currently looking for a writer to work on the film.
Cumberbatch made his debut in the role in 2016m starring as Stephen Strange, cocky surgeon who loses the use of his hands, and, in a last-ditch attempt to regain his former powers, discovers magic. His mentor on this quest is a Tibetan mystic known as the Ancient One, who is training pupils to be the next sorcerer supreme.
Rachel McAdams and Benedict Wong are both to set to star alongside Cumberbatch in the sequel,
Cumberbatch was most recently seen in the role of Doctor Strange in Avengers: Infinity War and is currently on the big screen voicing The Grinch in a new animated blockbuster based on Dr Seuss's beloved grouch.
