Sequels for new Terminator reboot confirmed for 2017 and 2018 already
Despite the fact that the first film in Paramount Pictures' rebooted Terminator franchise isn't due out until 2015, the studio have already confirmed that they have begun work on two sequels, which are due out in 2017 and 2018.
The first film in the rebooted franchise, which has been confirmed to be titled Terminator: Genisys, is due to be released on July 1st in the US and June 26th in the UK next summer.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the sequels are already confirmed and will be shot back to back, with the plan to release them on May 29th, 2017, and June 29th, 2018.
Terminator: Genisys, which stars a returning Arnold Schwarzenegger alongside newcomers Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Matt Smith and Jai Courtney, has been directed by Alan Taylor, best known for his work on Game Of Thrones and more recently on Thor: The Dark World. He is, however, not confirmed to work on the sequels.
Schwarzenegger last starred as the eponymous robot in 2003's Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines, but took no part in the 2009 spin-off Terminator Salvation, which starred Christian Bale and Sam Worthington.
