Sherlock, Happy Valley, The Missing up for BAFTA TV Awards

Sherlock, Happy Valley and The Missing are among the key nominees at this year's BAFTA Television Awards, which were announced this morning (April 8th).

Benedict Cumberbatch has scored his third nomination for the part of Sherlock in the leading actor category, where he will face off against the likes of Toby Jones, nominated for his role in BBC drama Marvellous, and James Nesbitt, who is recognised for his role in The Missing.

Sarah Lancashire will be the hot favourite in the leading actress category for her role in Happy Valley, but she will face stiff competition from Sheridan Smith, who is nominated for her role in Cilla, and Keeley Hawes, who is up for her role in Line Of Duty.

In the other categories, there are also nods for Olivia Colman for her role in Rev, Tamsin Greig, for Episodes, Matt Berry for Toast Of London, and Brendan O'Carroll for Mrs Brown's Boys.

Bafta's international award, meanwhile, sees House of Cards and Orange is the New Black nominated alongside The Good Wife and True Detective. You can see the full list of nominations below.
