Sony delay release of Jumanji sequel, bring forward Spider-Man reboot
Sony has delayed the release of the remake of classic adventure movie Jumanji, but has moved forward the release of the new Spider-Man movie.
The remake of Jumanji had originally been due to be released in December this year, but has now been moved back by seven months to a new release date of July 28th in 2017.
The studio has though moved the new reboot of Spider-Man forward from its original release date of July 28th to a new release date of July 7th in 2017.
Spider-Man will now be played by Tom Holland, star of The Impossible, in the new reboot, he replaces Andrew Garfield, who departed after 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Holland will first be seen as the web slinger in next year's Captain America: Civil War and will star in his first Spider-Man solo movie in the following year.
Garfield's departure from the roles came after the announcement last year that the web slinger would be joining the Marvel cinmetic universe.
