hmv.com talks to Malcolm D Lee and Gabriel Iglesias about the return of Space Jam...

When the original Space Jam movie first landed in 1996 it was not only a technical marvel blending animation and live-action together on the big screen, it was also a huge box office hit thanks largely to the pull of its leading star, NBA legend Michael Jordan, and has retained an unusual kind of cult status among film nerds and basketball jocks alike.

As a result, there was plenty of buzz when it was announced in February 2019 that a new instalment was finally in the works, with LeBron James stepping up to fill the considerable boots of Jordan.

Alongside him, there's a large cast of Looney Toons favourites from Bugs Bunny to Speedy Gonzalez, along with a live-action cast that includes a stellar performance from Don Cheadle as the film's primary villain, Al G. Rhythm.

With Space Jam: A New Legacy in cinemas this Friday (July 16) we spoke to director Malcolm D. Lee and voice star Gabrial Iglesias about bringing the hotly-anticipated movie to life.
