Spectre's Léa Seydoux set to star alongside Channing Tatum in Gambit
Léa Seydoux, star of Blue Is The Warmest Colour and forthcoming James Bond movie Spectre, looks set to take the lead role in new X-Men spin-off Gambit.
Gambit will be played by Channing Tatum with Seydoux in line to take the role of Belladonna Boudreaux, the head of the Assassin’s Guild, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Gambit, who was previously portrayed by Taylor Kitsch in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, is a mutant who can mentally create, control and manipulate pure kinetic energy to his every whim and desire. He is also incredibly knowledgeable and skilled incard-throwing, hand-to-hand combat, and the use of a bō.
Tatum, who is currently filming roles in Quentin Tarantion's new thriller The Hateful Eight and The Coen Brothers' new comedy Hail, Caesar!, will be directed in the spin-off by Rupert Wratt, best known for his work on Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes and The Gambler.
It is the third X-Men film in production alongside Deadpool, the spin-off starring Ryan Reynolds, and the next main feature X-Men: Apocalypse.
