A sequel to animated hit Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse has been confirmed.
The original, which was released at the end of 2018, took over $375 million at the box office and took home the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
A sequel has now been ordered and will arrive in cinemas on April 8th in 2022.

The film followed Miles Morales, the Afro-Latina teenager created by Sara Pichelli who first appeared in the Ultimate Spider-Man storylines.
We watched on as sees the young Miles coming to terms with his new-found abilities while discovering that Wilson 'Kingpin' Fisk has created a machine which creates a portal to other dimensions, sucking in various other Spider-Man incarnations from other dimensions.
In order to stop Kingpin from destroying New York and rupturing the fabric of the universe, Miles and his new friends must team up to stop Kingpin's plan and return them all to their home dimensions before it's too late.
