Star Wars Boba Fett spin-off cancelled

The Star Wars spin-off based around the character of Boba Fett has been cancelled.

According to journalist Erick Weber and later confirmed by Entertainment Weekly, producer Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed that the spin-off is not going ahead.

James Mangold, director of the Wolverine trilogy, was due to direct and was expected to work with X-Men key man Simon Kinberg on the script.

Fett is a feared bounty hunter who featured in both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi as a minion employed by both Darth Vader and Jabba the Hutt.

A spin-off has long been talked about but has never come to fruition.

The latest Star Wars spin-off, Solo - A Star Wars Story is out now and available to purchase from hmv’s online store.

You can check out the full Star Wars back catalogue and merchandise range here in hmv’s online store.
