Stranger Things director Shawn Levy to take charge of Uncharted movie
Shawn Levy, best known for his work as director of the Night At The Museum franchise, is to take charge of the Uncharted movie.
Levy, who had previously been in talks to direct a new movie based on Minecraft will instead focus on a very different game adaptation.
According to Deadline, Smokin' Aces director Joe Carnahan had been expected to take charge as he'd written the most recent script, but he has now moved to the third instalment of Bad Boys and clearing the way for Levy.
Levy has most recently been working on Netflix's hit sci-fi drama Stranger Things and is confirmed to direct some episodes in the second season as well as preparing Uncharted.
The Uncharted game series has sold over 28 million units across the world and follows treasure hunter Nathan "Nate" Drake as he travels around the world to uncover various historical mysteries. A movie version has been in active development since 2008.
