Sylvester Stallone confirms title of new Rambo movie

Sylvester Stallone has confirmed that the new Rambo movie will be titled Rambo: Last Blood.

Stallone has played John Rambo, the iconic soldier, on four previous occasions, first in 1982, then in 1985, 1988 and lastly in 2008. The plot of Rambo: Last Blood will see the soldier go up against a deadly Mexican cartel.

The actor, who is also set to direct the new movie, confirmed the news on Twitter, writing that he would be filming a new movie about notorious gangster Gregory Scarpa after he finishes Last Blood.

Stallone is also working on Creed, his spin-off from his classic boxing movie series Rocky. The film is currently in pre-production and will be directed by Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler.

Fantastic Four star Michael B. Jordan is expected to star as a man following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Apollo Creed, and getting a mentor in the now-retired Rocky Balboa, who Stallone will once again play.
