Taylor Kitsch confirms he will star in season two of True Detective
John Carter and Friday Night Lights star Taylor Kitsch has confirmed he has a role in the second season of True Detective.
Speaking to AdWeek, Kitsch confirmed his role in the show, saying: "I’ve just been prepping. It’s been almost a full year since I’ve been on camera, so I’m itching, man. I’m overdue. "I loved that first season of it so much, it was so grounded. It could really happen. This is very similar, and I love that."
Kitsch will star alongside Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn in the drama's second season. Farrell will play the character Ray Velcaro, who he describes as a man “who has been damaged by years of trauma in both his personal and professional lives.” Vaughan will play a character named Frank Semyon.
The new series is expected to follow a storyline about a corrupt businessman who is found dead the night before he is due to complete a deal.
Fast And Furious director Justin Lin will direct the season's first two episodes.
The new show debuted earlier this year to great acclaim and starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as two detectives who are charged with solving a series of ritualistic murders in Louisiana.
The second season will be set in California and features an entirely new cast.
