Taylor Swift, Idris Elba, James Corden feature in first look at new big screen adaptation of Cats

A first behind-the-scenes- look at the new big-screen adaptation of Cats has been unveiled. Click below to watch it:

The musical stars Idris Elba, Judi Dench, Taylor Swift, James Corden, Ian McKellen and Jennifer Hudson and has been directed by The King's Speech and Les Miserables man Tom Hooper.

Lee Hall, who wrote both Billy Elliott and the upcoming Elton John biopic, has adapted Lloyd Webber’s musical, which was itself adapted from a book of children’s poems by T.S. Eliot.

The musical, which first opened in 1981, tells the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles who must decide yearly which one will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new Jellicle life.

The first trailer for the new film will debut on Friday (July 19th).

Cats will be released into UK cinemas on December 20th.
