Terry Pratchett's The Watch to be adapted for BBC series

A new TV adaptation of Terry Pratchett's book series The Watch has been commissioned.

According to The Wrap, Simon Allen, a key writer on the BBC's take on The Musketeers and Sky's new telling of Das Boot, will adapt Pratchett's work for the eight-part series.

The Watch is set within Pratchett's Discworld universe and follows the City Watch, a misfit group of officers patrolling the streets of sprawling city Ankh-Morpork.

BBC Studios is producing the series with Pratchett’s own production company Narrativia. Hilary Salmon, Ben Donald, Rob Wilkins and Phil Collinson will executive produce.

Pratchett will next be seen on screen in early 2019 with the small take on Good Omens, the comic novel he wrote with Neil Gaiman.
