The A-Team's Joe Carnahan set to write and direct Bad Boys 3
Joe Carnahan, best known for directing Smokin' Aces and the big-budget adaptation of The A-Team, is in talks to re-write and direct Bad Boys 3.
A sequel to Will Smith and Martin Lawrence's much-loved action franchise has been in development for a number of years now, with various writers and directors attached, but now, according to Deadline, Carnahan is in talks to take over.
If talks are successful, it seems likely that Sony will try and persuade Will Smith to go straight from shooting Suicide Squad into filming the new instalment.
Bad Boys 2 was released in 2003 and grossed over $270 million at the box office, it was the second outing for Smith and Lawrence as trigger happy police detectives Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey.
Carnahan's latest movie Stretch, which starred Patrick Wilson and Jessica Alba, was released on DVD earlier this month. You can read our interview with Carnahan where he opens up about Stretch and his plans for the future here.
