The Batman 2 confirmed, Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson to return
In news that will come as little surprise to anyone who’s been keeping an eye on The Batman’s box office numbers (currently standing at $760m and counting), Warner Bros. have confirmed that a sequel to The Batman is officially in the works, with director Matt Reeves and star Robert Pattinson both set to return for The Batman 2.
The news was announced at CinemaCon by Warner Bros. studio boss Toby Emmerich, with Matt Reeves also briefly appearing on stage and addressing the audience, saying: “Thank you all for your tremendous support for The Batman. We couldn’t have gotten here without the faith and enthusiasm of all your teams around the world. I’m excited to jump back into this world for the next chapter.”
The announcement also confirmed that both Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz will return to reprise their roles for the sequel, although there are few details beyond that at this stage. There has been no indication on a potential release date or any plot details so far, but we can at least say that The Batman 2 is officially in the pipeline.
