The Favourite and Roma are big winners at 2019 BAFTAs
The Favourite and Roma were the big winners at last night's 2019 British Academy Film Awards.
The costume drama picked up seven awards, including Best Actress for Olivia Colman, Best Supporting Actress for Rachel Weisz, Outstanding British Film and Best Original Screenplay as well as a string of technical awards.
Roma, Alfonso Cuarón's Mexican family drama, also did extremely well and pipped The Favourite to win Best Film. It also earned Cuarón the award for Best Director, Best Film Not In The English Language and the gong for cinematography.
Rami Malek scored Best Actor for his turn as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, while Mahershala Ali picked up Best Supporting Actor for Green Book.
Other winners on the night included A Star Is Born, Black Panther, Vice, Beast and BlacKkKlansman.
The ceremony took place at the Royal Albert Hall in London, with Joanna Lumley hosting for the second year in succession.
