The Favourite dominates nominations for 2019 BAFTAs
The Favourite has dominated the nominations for the 2019 British Academy Film Awards with 12 nominations in all.
The madcap drama, which stars Rachel Weisz, Olivia Colman and Emma Stone, is nominated for Best Film, Outstanding British Film, Original Screenplay, Cinematography, Production Design, Costume Design, Make Up & Hair and Editing.
Director Yorgos Lanthimos is up for Best Director, Colman is nominated for Leading Actress with Weisz and Stone both nominated for Supporting Actress.
Also doing well are Bohemian Rhapsody, First Man, Roma and A Star Is Born, which have seven nominations.
Political comedy-drama Vice has six, BlacKkKlansman has five, while Cold War and Green Book have four.
Also represented are Can You Ever Forgive Me?, Mary Poppins Returns, Mary Queen of Scots and Stan & Ollie, they each have three nods.
The Favourite will compete against Roma, BlacKkKlansman, Green Book and A Star Is Born for Best Film, while its competition from Outstanding British Film comes from Beast, Bohemian Rhapsody, You Were Never Really Here, heartbreaking documentary McQueen and Stan & Ollie.
The ceremony will take place on February 10th at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Joanna Lumley will host the show for the second year in succession.
