The Hateful Eight - Five Reasons You’ll Love It

Quentin Tarantino’s epic western The Hateful Eight hits shelves on Monday (April 9th) and is available on DVD, Blu-Ray and Blu-Ray steelbook, exclusively at hmv.

The movie stars Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Demián Bichir, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen and Bruce Dern and tells  the story of Russell's John 'The Hangman' Ruth. Ruth is escorting a fugitive with a $10,000 bounty to her execution when he is forced to seek refuge in a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass during a blizzard. Once inside he meets a large group of strangers who all begin to take a keen interest in the fugitive, an interest that means some of them may well never make it out alive…

We caught a screening of the movie before it hit cinemas and have rounded up five reasons you’ll love it...

It looks incredible…

Tarantino’s eye for period detail has always been impeccable and it’s particularly superb here. The outfits, the guns, it’s all beautifully put together and looks incredible.

It’ll always keep you guessing…

No one does twists, turns, 360s, 180s or complete flummoxes better than Tarantino and there are plenty of them on offer here.

It’s very funny…

As you’d expect there are quips and one-liners aplenty, you’ll be shocked and giggling constantly.

It’s a long one, but it doesn’t drag…

Clocking in at a meaty 187 minutes The Hateful Eight is the kind of movie you’ll need to set aside a full evening for, but it’ll be worth it, you’ll be gripped by every second.

It’s an intimate movie, but there’s plenty of action too…

We won’t give too much away as this is a movie where there are lots of twists and turns, but rest assured this is more than just a group of people sat in a room talking, when the movie explodes into life it gets very violent and very bloody.

The Hateful Eight will be released on DVD, Blu-Ray and Blu-Ray steelbook exclusive to hmv on Monday (May 9th). Click here to pre-order it.
