The Matrix's Carrie-Ann Moss joins the cast of Marvel's A.K.A Jessica Jones
The Matrix star Carrie-Ann Moss has been cast in a key role in A.K.A Jessica Jones, Marvel's new TV series.
The new superhero drama will premiere on Netflix later this year and will star Krysten Ritter, best known for her roles in Breaking Bad and Don't Trust The B***h In Apartment 23.
AKA Jessica Jones follows the travails of a superhero who is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, a condition which leads to her hanging up her costume and opening her own detective agency, where she ends up helping people and assisting other superheroes.
Moss's role is currently unnamed, but the official announcement describes her as "a no-nonsense woman who could prove a powerful ally to Jessica...if Jessica doesn’t completely alienate her first."
David Tennant was confirmed last week to play a recurring role in the limited-run series as Zebediah Killgrave, a villain more commonly known as the Purple Man, one of Jones' key nemesis.
The series is the second of four limited run Marvel TV series that will debut on Netflix, first is Daredevil, followed by A.K.A Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. The four are then set to unite for a joint series under the name Defenders.
