Black Panther, Roman J. Israel Esq and Father Figures are among this week's new releases on DVD.

Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther wowed everyone earlier, taking home over $1.3 billion at the box office and now it arrives on DVD. 

Set after the events of Captain America: Civil War, we follow Boseman’s T’Challa as he heads back to his homeland of Wakanda following the death of his father, the King of Wakanda.

Once home, he soon discovers that he faces a challenge for the throne from factions within his own country, and, when two new enemies conspire to destroy Wakanda, he is forced to team up with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross and members of Wakanadan special forces, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war.

Ryan Coogler, who won many admirers for his work on Creed and Fruitvale Station, directs, with his Creed mainman Michael B. Jordan in a key role as villain Eric ‘Kilmonger’ Stevens.

Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis are in supporting roles.

Denzel Washington scored a Best Actor nominee for his performance in this tense drama. 

Washington plays Roman Israel, a driven, idealistic defence attorney who, through a tumultuous series of events, decides that his years of fighting the good fight are over and he wants a taste of the good times. Naturally, there are consequences...

Starring alongside Washington are Colin Farrell, Carmen Ejogo and Shelley Henig. The movie is written and directed by Dan Gilroy and is his follow-up to Nightcrawler.
